Tips on Writing an Effective Resume

My name is Latha Pai and I am a Senior Recruiter with 12 years of experience recruiting candidates for Information technology positions. Given that I am a recruiter, I review many resumes per day and would like to share some important tips on how to construct an impressive resume.
Your resume is a showcase document of your professional experience, along with your strongest skills and abilities. You want to make sure that your work experience is current and up to date. It’s also best to display your experience in a concise manner. Therefore, communicate your past accomplishments clearly. Your resume will be the first impression of you to the hiring manager, so it’s going to be essential that you show them your greatest strengths. Make sure to provide them with the most important details of your experience you feel would be relevant to the role you are applying for. I highly recommend keeping your resume to a maximum of three pages.
First and foremost, list your name, telephone numbers, email, LinkedIn and Twitter handle on top of your resume.
Breaking a Resume Down into Four Integral Parts:
1: A brief summary of yourself, including a strong statement of who you are and the value you’d bring to an organization.
2. Technical skills, clearly state your core competencies and what makes you stand out from others.
3. Your professional experience. List in chronological order starting with your most recent position. Include the dates you were employed. Summarize your main responsibilities, accomplishments and leadership skills.
